I've had a lot of time to process the trip but it's really difficult to put my feelings into words. First of all Bali was absolutely stunning. The people were so kind and welcoming, the food was to die for, the scenery felt like a dream. At the same time though, we all know how exploited Southeast Asian countries and the rest of the Imperial periphery is, but it's something else to be face to face with it. Giant amounts of plastic wash up all over the beach, digital nomads brag about how cheap everything is while locals barely make 100 euro a month and lack the infrastructure to deal with all the litter berating them from all sides. I didn't need to see it to believe it, i was never in doubt of how unjust the system is, but goddamn it really is a dire level of inequality.

I don't have anything profound to share. I just feel a lot of feelings about it all.
